A few months ago I attended my sister's first photography workshop she taught. Me Ra Koh, An amazingly talented photographer and Nik's mentor, has taken her on to her team of teachers that run Confidence Workshops, which teach women how to take their camera off the auto setting and use their creativity to take better photos.
I am so proud of her and how far she has come with her business. What an example of chasing your dreams and working your butt off to make them come true.
Shout out to you sis- a supermom, wife, photographer and now...teacher!
I learned a lot about settings and composition, but the thing I have had so much fun with is the idea of refusing to say cheese. Nik shared with us this idea of capturing the story of your child by shooting them in action and capturing the details- before you just ask them to look at you and smile. I took Dad's camera home from the workshop and started experimenting right away.
I have A LOT of learning and practicing to do- but here is one of my first "stories"...
(Which Logan appreciated)
Those little lips just kill me!
Before the workshop I watched one of Me Ra's videos that gave us the assignment to write down your child's 5 favorite toys/activities, then capture it in action. The first that came to my mind...
light.
Logan loves any type of light, loves to find them above, point to them, turn the switch on and off...
I love watching his sweet little face study it. Sometimes so serious-like he is trying to figure it out, sometimes SO full of joy. They just make him happy.
Aaaand moving on...
And a few other random fun ones...
