Fun and Games- Part 2

Jeff had to go out of town for a tennis camp so I am a little lonely. :( Hence all the blogging...!

Jeff and I were both excited when Kevin said he wanted to go to Vancouver bc while he was here. Jeff hadn't been since he was a teenager and I hadn't been at all. SO- the first thing we did was call the party planner (Aka Joanna)! She was awesome- her and her apps planned out a fun-filled trip. We got more and more excited as we approached the border. Dorky, but I was just anxious because I didn't really know what to expect. After checking into our hotel (The Sheraton, ooh lala!) we took the drive around Stanley Park and saw the sights. That night we walked...and walked...and walked...to get to the beach at Stanley Park where everybody gathered to watch fireworks off a barge. It was Spain's night to compete in the 'Celebration of Light.' There were a gazillion people there, so unfortunately Joanna and I got separated from the guys who were sweet enough to pick up cupcakes to munch on during the show. The show was INCREDIBLE, set to music and full of fireworks we had never seen before. It was no surprise they ended up winning the competition. Joanna said the streets were comparable to how they were during the Olympics (packed!). Later than night, we went dancing. We had fun but Jeff and I enjoyed our walk home the most. Have I mentioned how much I love him??

The next morning, Jeff remembered how giddy I got when we had walked past a crepe shop and offered to take me to breakfast! Check out the photo of the gigantic crepe and extra cup of whipped cream below. Mmm. It was yummy, a little slimy, and still didn't top my absolute fav at the puyallup fair. We strolled the city while Joanna and Bo-town went to get dim sum. The last thing we were able to do was take a ferry to Granville Island to shop the market there. Side note- we saw the most adorable bulky, scrunchy-nosed bull dog playing in the water when we were boarding the boat. We have GOT to have one of those one day! Anyway, the market was awesome. There was a deck overlooking the city that looked like a movie scene. We found a photographer (http://www.engproductions.com/ctions.com/) who took beautiful nature shots. (We could fill our house with her work!) On our way back down to the boat we saw what is apparently a big thing there- stacking rocks. Jeff tried and did pretty well!

Overall, we had a blast. It was a lot of driving in 2 days but we made it. Getting back across the border took a few hours of waiting in line but it was all okay once we made it to my parents for BBQ. We were celebrating my twin brothers, mine and Mom's birthdays. There is always a ton of love floating around when we get together, even more now that there are little baby boys crawling around. They are the sweetest! Happy Birthday everyone! We love you!
