Mr. Logan turned 7 months old on February 3rd.
Yesterday I was looking through my pictures I had on my phone and came accross the first one I took of Logan. He is tightly swaddled and snuggling with me in my hospital bed just hours after he was born.
We were enveloped in the love and peace of the Heaven he had just come from. Those were such sacred moments for me as tears flowed through silent prayers to my Heavenly Father- thanking him for trusting me his precious, perfect child.
I think I fall deeper inlove with my little family with each passing month.
Each one brings new and exciting moments with Logan that make us giddy- this last one especially...
In month 7:

Sleep Training: We had become used to our nighttime routine of a book, prayer, and nursing Logan to sleep. At his 6 month checkup, Doc said it was time to quit that and teach him how to fall asleep on his own. The thought made me quite sad- I loved nursing and snuggeling him to sleep and ever-so-gently laying my sleeping babe in his crib. But what the Doc and the books were telling me seemed to make sense. They said it was important for him to learn how to fall asleep on his own and that it would help him sleep longer at night. I failed the first two nights. I felt horrible and there is just nothing as sad as baby tears. Finally on the third night I said a prayer, turned the baby monitor down and the tv up. In a half hour, he was out. One of the nights I was so tempted to go pick him up but Jeff and I stayed in bed staring at the monitor, coaching him to sleep as if he could hear us. We did it. (Love you Mr. Rice) :) Doc said it would take 4 nights, but by the third- no more crying (from niether of us!). On the best nights L will sleep from 8-8, getting up once to eat. Wahoo!
-
Food!: Sweet potatoes, bananas, peas, pears, and apples. Favorites?--Squash and green beans. Mmm.
-
Sounds: A master at the motorboat sound, throaty growls, tongue clicking, and dramatic inhales.
He also...
- Arches back in protest to his carseat.
- Sits up for short periods of time.
- Took his first plane ride! (Blog soon to come...)
- Loves playing with daisy and giggles when she sniffs his face.
- Is working on giving kisses- more like attacks with an open, slobbery, gummy mouth, but still...
- Loves when you look down at him from the computer or couch. He just waits and gives you the grin of all grins when you meet eyes. Heartbreaker indeed.
- Pulls his bib over his face and shakes his limbs in anticipation of a peek-a-boo game.
